THE BIG BOY!

Abner Daniel will be 4 months on Friday and still remains a very happy, content little guy. Well, I shouldn't say ¨little,¨ he is getting to be a big boy. There is something about Abner Daniel that reminds me so much of my brother Cory. There is something in his looks, but I think that I am also seeing it in his personality too. I think that the Lord allows me to see whatever it is I see in Abner Daniel, in order to remind me of the good things that He saw in my brother. I know that my brother would have loved being an uncle to these two little ones, as well as to Teagan and Grady.

A MOMENT TO REFLECT...

I just got an e-mail from a friend of mine whom I have know most of my life. We lived on the same street growing up, were in grade school through high school together, and still today I can call her a friend. In here e-mail she wrote,
¨When we were 15, I doubt either us ever thought much about where we would be in our 30s, but if we would have, I highly doubt we would have imagined life as it is. Praise God that He has higher plans for us than we do - even when He doesn't make sense.¨
Our lives were very different then, neither of us were in Christ, and she is right, I would have never imagined life as it is today, yet where I am now, I wouldn't change for anything. God is so good and this moment is to just reflect on His goodness. Praise be to our Almighty God who forever holds us in His grip.

OW!

I fell down God--and got an owie!
The cat said, ¨Meowie!¨
Such a bad owie!
The dog said, ¨Bow-wowie!
Just look at that owie!¨
¨Daddy!¨I cried, ¨I got an owie!¨
He said, ¨And howie!¨

This is another prayer from on of Susana's books, and her owie. While in Tegus this past week, she fell and hit the leg of a table outside, pretty hard. Praise the Lord she is recuperating. She's a tough girl!

PIZZA HUT DANCE...

Yes, I let her enjoy herself on the floor at pizza hut. Aunt Chrystal, Abner Daniel, and I just stood by watching and got some good laughs. She is a silly girl!

PLUG-INS....

O.k., this past Thursday as I was doing laundry, I was in between loads, when the dryer stopped working. I heard a thump, thump, and then it quit. I tilted the dryer to one side, then the other, and the same thump, thump continued. I told Abner that the dryer wasn't working, and that I thought that something had gotten inside. We waited a couple days and decided that instead of calling someone to come and fix it, we would try and find the problem ourselves. Saturday, Abner's parents arrived so we decided to invite Abner's dad in on the task of fixing the dryer. Our dryer is outside, so we didn't notice the not so lovely smell that had been festering over the past couple days. After getting the back of the dryer loose, Abner had the privilege of finding the several day dead rat that had climbed inside and that I had probably killed in trying to dry our clothes. O.k. a several day old dead rat, leaves a very BAD odor. We let the dryer run to try and air it out, but the smell was still enough to make me gag and I needed to dry clothes, sooo I decided to wrap some plug-ins up in tinfoil and throw them in with our clothes. I prayed that they wouldn't explode over everything and it worked. God is good!! We now know that plug-ins are multipurpose! Got to love these experiences of life that the Lord throws are way.
